The lecture was based on the theme of gender and gender-based violence.

The second program of a series of programs organised by the planning and information technology unit of the Ministry of Women and Children under the theme of updating and awareness of officers' skills was held on 27th March 2024 in Setsiripaya Second Phase, Battaramulla, 6th Floor Auditorium for about 110 officers. Conducted with participation.

Mr. Manoj Fernando, Dean and Senior Lecturer of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Rajarata University, as the main resource of the program, delivered a long lecture based on the basic theme of gender and gender-based violence.

The resourcefulness for the lecture held in the afternoon was given by Mrs. Yasoma Weerasekera of the Ministry of Health. The doctor works as a community medicine specialist in the Sri Lanka Cancer Control Unit and discussed a very topical topic of cancer and other non-communicable diseases in Sri Lanka and its impact on women and children.

Majority of officers rated the knowledge gained and usefulness of the program.
