The Ministry of Women and Child Affairs successfully accommodated a comprehensive technical training program today at the 6th-floor Auditorium, Sethsiripaya Stage II.

Strategic Objectives

The primary objective of the session was to institutionalize digital readiness and enhance the cybersecurity posture of officials of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs. In alignment with the "Clean Sri Lanka" national initiative, the program focused on fostering a transparent, secure, and digitally resilient public service infrastructure.

Key Technical Domains Covered

The program was designed to bridge the gap between policy and practice, personal data protection, focusing on several critical pillars of the modern digital landscape:

Cyber Security Threat Landscape: An analysis of current vectors, including social engineering, malware evolution, and persistent threats.

Digital Hygiene and Proactive Defence: Implementation of best practices for securing endpoints and maintaining organizational data integrity.

Legislative and Policy Frameworks: In-depth exploration of the Electronic Transactions Act, the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), and upcoming E-Governance standards.

Digital Forensic Awareness: Understanding the nature of cyber-crimes and the legal protocols for reporting and mitigation.

Specialized Protection: Detailed modules on Child and Women Safety within the digital ecosystem, focusing on privacy controls and online harassment prevention.

Resource Personnel

Technical expertise was provided by the Defence Cyber Command at the Ministry of Defence. The delegation was led by Brigadier KVP Dhammika USP ptsc Director of the Defence Cyber Command, supported by a specialized team:

Attendance and Future Roadmap

The Secretary to the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, the Director General of Planning and Monitoring, and senior staff officials were attended the program.

Recognizing the critical importance of decentralized digital literacy, the Ministry plans to scale this initiative by conducting similar technical training programs at the district level to ensure all regional officers are equipped for future digital challenges.
